Growing up too fast!

It's hard to believe that Ava is already old enough for baby food! Where did the time go?! I'm a little sad that my baby girl is growing up so fast, but she was definitely ready for solid food! She ate the entire container of baby food (well, she ate everything that actually made it in her mouth - we had helpers!).

We tried to get Jude to taste it (it was, after all, orange), but he wouldn't do it.

This was a BIG event for Lily Kate and Anna. They were very excited to feed their little sister.

All in all, Ava's first attempt at eating solid food went well. She's ready for solids, but I'm not sure I'm ready for her to already be at this stage!

Fabrics.

I'll be adding pictures of the fabrics I'm currently using as well as new fabrics under the fabrics tab. If you see one you love, and you want to request a special order, please e-mail me to check stock availability.

Another Giveaway!

Alysha from The Tarr Pit will be hosting a giveaway of one of Orangeberry Baby's lovey blankets in June! I'll post more details about the giveaway soon.

Baby Jordyn.

I've been searching for some really special fabric to make a blanket for my cousin's new baby, and I think this is it! I love the colors and design of this print.

Here's baby Jordyn's new blanket:

Look how thick and plush it is! This blanket will definitely keep Jordyn warm, and it will be perfect for tummy time, too!

It won't be long before Jordyn is here. I can't wait to meet her!!

New Burp Cloths.

I've been going back and forth trying to decide if I'm going to make and sell burp cloths. I had pretty much decided that I wasn't going to make them, but I really like the idea of being able to create gift sets, and I think burp cloths are always a great gift for a new baby. I wasn't happy with my earlier designs, so I decided to make a few changes. I'm really happy with how the new burp cloths turned out. The new design is simple, and it complements my blankets perfectly.

Here are the new Orangeberry Baby burp cloths.

The new burp cloths feature the same piped edging as my blankets and are backed with terry cloth, which is soft and super absorbent. They measure approximately 8" x 16". I tried different sizes, and this size is the one I like best. It fits nicely over your shoulder, and, when folded or rolled up, it doesn't take up much space making it convenient to carry with you.

It's a Boy!

My good friend, Holly, just had a gorgeous baby boy! After three girls, she was convinced that this baby would be a girl (and, yes, she was incredibly cruel to keep us all in suspense), but she was WRONG!!! Baby Burke is here! We are just thrilled that Jude has a new playmate or "little brother" if you ask him.

Here's Burke's new lovey blanket.

I got this super cute fabric from Petunias Textiles. The owner designs and prints her own fabric through Spoonflower! If you are looking for something unique, you should check out her shop on Etsy. She has some really cute designs!

Look at these needle felted spots in bright fun colors!

These are going to make really fun hair clips. I love the design and the colors are fabulous! In fact, I love them so much that I'm planning on designing and making more hair accessories using 100% wool felt. I will post some of my creations soon!

Things are moving fast.

It's only been a few months since I made the decision to launch Orangeberry Baby. During that time, I opened an Etsy shop, designed new labels, and spent time working on the designs of my products. I now feel like I have a good set of designs that I really love and that I think you will love, too. Take a look at some of the new designs:

Receiving Blankets:

Lovey Blankets (Available in two different sizes):

I will offer three different types of blankets: receiving blankets, stroller blankets, and lovey security blankets (small and large sizes).

I will be posting some new blankets to the shop soon. I'm excited to show you the new fabrics I've picked. Maybe I will post a sneak peek of what is in the works later this week!

I'm beginning this blog to keep everyone updated on what's happening at Orangeberry Baby. I hope you will enjoy visiting.

Meet Jude.

I thought it would be appropriate to introduce the little boy who inspired our name, Orangeberry Baby. Jude is my baby boy. He's a fun, loving little guy who LOVES the color orange (and, yes, his shirt in the picture is orange) and strawberries! He loves wearing orange clothes, eating with orange dishes, playing with orange toys - he is obsessed with the color orange! What's even funnier is that he loves the letter O. He spies O's everywhere. O's really make him happy. It really is amazing how something so simple can create such happiness. Thank you Jude for being such an inspiration to us all.
